Mission Statement |
Mountpottinger Methodist Church: showing God’s grace and sharing His love in the heart of East Belfast.
WORSHIP
To meet regularly for all-inclusive, flexible, creative and Christ-centred worship, prayer and bible teaching, which is open to God’s Spirit in a changing world and is relevant to people’s needs.
NURTURE
To listen and respond to each other’s spiritual, physical, emotional and intellectual needs with love in Christ, respect, encouragement and support; to provide wholesome activities and resources, upgrading various features of our church facilities to provide a welcoming, safe, forward-looking environment where we can grow in faith, love and service.
EVANGELISATION
To reach out with God’s active love and connect with all persons, inviting and welcoming them to become part of our church family, showing always the love of Jesus through our attitudes, behaviour and actions.
WHOLENESS
To make ourselves aware of the needs of our own church family and support each other through prayer and practical support; to find out the needs of our local community and support reconciliation, community development and action for justice; to involve and give of ourselves in the needs of the wider community, nationally and internationally, showing practical compassion among the most deprived and poor; to continue to develop our relationship with Bloomfield Methodist and extend the hand of friendship and brotherhood to other local churches.
